E-Track Graduate School Information for MEXT Scholarship Applicants

To graduate school applicants who would like to study at TIU with the Japanese Government (MEXT) Scholarship for 2024

This scholarship opportunity is only for those living outside Japan. Please note the following points.

  1. Preliminary Screening by the Japanese Embassy
    1) You are required to pass the preliminary screening by the Japanese Embassy prior to applying to TIU. Please contact the Japanese Embassy / Consulate before contacting the E-Track Admissions Center at TIU.
    2) Once you have passed the preliminary screening at the embassy, you must contact TIU no later than August 25 (Fri) regarding your desire to enroll. For details about the application process, click HERE to read the information provided by MEXT.
  2. English Requirement
    In addition, applicants must submit their results of the TOEFL ibt, IELTS, TOEIC, Pearson PTE Academic, or Duolingo test to apply for the graduate school at TIU. The minimum required scores are shown below. Only one test type is required.

    TOEFL iBT 80 / TOEIC 780 / IELTS 6.0 / Pearson PTE 50 / Duolingo 115
  3. Letters of Recommendation
    Applicants must submit two original letters of recommendation from a teacher / professor / supervisor / school official who have supervised the work of the student from the most recent school attended.
  4. Application Fee
    Applicants are required to pay the application fee of 35,000 JPY.

    (Note) TIU does not accept applications from non-regular (non-degree seeking) students who have not already earned a Master’s Degree.
