The 11th International Symposium “Japan Around The World” Part 8

The 11th International Symposium “Japan around the World” was held on October 20, 2023, at the Palace Hotel in Tokyo, drawing approximately 400 attendees. The event began with an opening address by Nobuyasu Kurata, Chancellor and Chair of Tokyo International University. Subsequently, the symposium featured a speech by former Foreign Minister Masahiko Komura on “Japan’s Diplomacy,” along with lectures by Joseph Nye, Special Distinguished Service Professor at Harvard University, on “How Should We Respond to China?,” and Yu Koizumi, a lecturer at the University of Tokyo’s Center for Advanced Science and Technology Research, on “Is Russia a Threat? A View from Tokyo.”

After a break, the event concluded with a panel discussion moderated by Akitoshi Miyashita, Vice President of Tokyo International University, during which participants engaged in in-depth discussions about the current global landscape.
