On Wednesday November 15th the Tokyo Employment Service Center for Foreigners conducted a session called “Job-Hunting in Japan 101 with Visa Guidance” as part of their “Model Curriculum for Domestic Employment Support for Foreign Students.” The Tokyo Employment Service Center for Foreigners is an institution under the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare that supports foreign individuals seeking employment, specializing in foreign nationals within the “Hello Work” system.
Fifty-two international students aspiring to work in Japan attended and listened attentively to a presentation by Mr. Ryotaro Seshita, a job placement support navigator from the Service Center. The students also engaged in group work and discussion, reflected on their strengths and aptitudes, and contemplated their career paths after graduation.
This event is one example of how TIU proactively provides support to international students. Through events and individual consultations, TIU helps international students understand how to navigate and be competitive in Japan’s job hunting system. The university will continue to offer support tailored to international students to enable them to build their careers in Japan.
